What course could I do? There's something for everyone!

Family Learning
is a great first step back into learning. You will be part of an informal group which takes part in a wide range of fun and creative activities. Childcare is on site, so you'll never be far from your little one, and you'll have the chance to develop fun activities for you andyour child to support their development too!

Young Parents-to-Be
is designed to give you the skills and knowledge you need for when you become a parent. It will help you to build your confidence and explore options for the future. You can work at your own pace; you can even take a break when your baby is born.

Parents with Prospects
is a great opportunity to learn alongside other parents. It will develop your skills and knowledge as a parent and help you to build a range of other skills like ICT, money management and effective communication.

Become a Peer Educator with Takes2
"Takes2" works in schools across Leicester and Leicestershire delivering peer education based sessions to young people to support positive healthy relationships. A team of young mums is trained and supported to run the peer education sessions in schools. You'll have the opportunity to develop your knowledge about sex and relationships and learn how to lead a group.

"Big Sister" Peer Mentoring for Young Mums
The "Big Sister" project supports young mums to get the most out of life. Young mums are trained in peer mentoring skills and they are then able to reach out into the community to support other young mums and mums-to-be. They currently run "Big Sister - Small talk" groups where young mums can meet, take part in positive activities, share their experiences and get support from each other. If you are 19 or under and you are open-minded, a good listener, enjoy meeting other people and are interested in helping other young parents reach their potential then this could be the course for you.

"Keep it Real" - Inspiring Young Women to Take Control!
The "Keep it Real" e2e programme is unique in that it's designed exclusively for young women. You get to join a small group of other young women and, with the help of friendly and experienced facilitators, you decide the sort of things you would like to do. There are opportunities to volunteer in the community and gain valuable work experience, learn about the things that matter to you such as healthy lifestyles, relationships and personal development, try new things out to challenge you and build your confidence and team work skills, take part in creative arts and work towards a qualification. The programme runs 16 hours a week for about 6 months and is designed to help you identify you goals and take positive steps towards them so that, at the end of the programme, you will be well on your way to achieving them.

Young Parents Support Groups
are run by Leicestershire Youth Service across the county. Based in a number of places in different communities, you can get support from the beginning of your pregnancy. Groups are facilitated by trained youth workers, some with specialist knowledge about pregnancy and parenting. Young Parents Support Groups give you the chance to learn a wide range of new skills, in an informal setting, with other young parents. You will be able to develop your self-confidence and get an accredited outcome.

Parents under 20 Programme
is a learner led programme for young parents to meet your individual eeds. Current opportunities include numeracy and literacy; computing; first aid; child CPR; youth and community work, and web design. This is also a chance to interact and socialise with other young parents and to increase self-confidence.

Progress
is an exciting new home study course for young mums and dads. You can learn about loads of things includig money management, preparing for being a parent, developing your CV and planning for the future, as well as developing practical skills to make you a confident parent.
